The Basics for Mohi'to "Mentha" Jinjahl
- Echo-haver, not a Warrior of Light.
- Keeper of the Moon Miqo'te (cat person, basically), 34 years old.
- Self-proclaimed "Master of the Dark Arts". Effectively a Black Mage, with some dabbling in Sharlayan Astrology.
- Likes to think he cultivates "an air of dark menace". Mostly cultivates an air of tacky unkemptness.
- Full of himself, loves to hold forth at length on the things he thinks he knows a lot about.
- Actually knows an enormous deal about voidsent, Mhach, Black Magic in general, and a variety of dangerous subjects.
- Associate of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn. Not always conveniently on hand, is still not in Urianger's good graces after having 'borrowed' a rare tome before the 7th Umbral Calamity and only returning it 5 years later.
- Easy to talk into doing risky things. Always up for being one of those 7 other adventurers that gives the Warrior of Light a hand.
HISTORY (very briefly)
- Born to a Keeper tribe in the Black Shroud. Second son, mother was very protective as her first son died unexpectedly at an early age.
- Father (Yhen'li Nhish) was an itinerant thaumaturge/alchemist/general wandering wizard-y guy, seldom present in Mohi'to's life, as is the way of Keeper families. Made occasional visits as Mohi'to grew.
- Was found to have an aptitude for thaumaturgy, himself, at about the age of 12. Father extended the invitation to come travel with him, and Mohi'to took it.
- "Travel" consisted of magic lessons, rapidly progressing to the very basics of Black Magic. Father was already in possession of a Black Mage soul stone, passed onto him by a now-dead mentor. He made it clear he hoped Mohi'to would inherit it and its knowledge one day.
- Mohi'to and father were traveling through Mor Dhona at about the same time as the Battle of Silvertear Skies, and were witness to the Agrius and Midgardsormr clashing. Mohi'to manifested the Echo very shortly afterwards.
- Continued to travel with father for several years. A misadventure with haphazardly-summoned Voidsent resulted in his father's death, and the scar on Mohi'to's face. He took his father's soul stone and carried on in his stead.
- Various adventures brought him to the attention of the Path of the Twelve, and he made brief contact with them. (This is circa 1.0) Took advantage of their resources, contributed where possible, but was mostly preoccupied with his own affairs and avoiding an active investigation into his activities by the Ul'dahn Thaumaturge's Guild.
- Got a bad feeling once Dalamud began to descend, and booked a ticket on a boat to Thavnair. Was good and absent for the 7th Umbral Calamity.
- Had an assortment of overseas adventures. Returned to Eorzea 5 years later, just in time to connect with the Scions of the Seventh Dawn and occasionally assist the up-and-coming Warrior of Light.
- Was present to assist with Copperbell Mines, Haukke Manor, Titan, Aurum Vale, Garuda, and both Castrum and Praetorium.
- Helped the Scions resettle in Revenant's Toll, mostly fussed with his own research at that time. General Voidsent consultant. Was part of the crew handling things at the Crystal Tower, was over the moon at a chance to go into The Void.
- After the Bloody Banquet, tried to distance himself from the Scions for the sake of his own safety. It didn't stick. Fate had him bumbling into the Gridanian Botanist's Guild and then sent to Coerthan lands to harvest samples and such.
- Ran afoul of the rogue Black Mages from the Black Mage level 50-60 questline, but narrowly escaped with his hide intact. Picked up Sharlayan Astrology in part to throw others off his course RE: the kind of magicks he tended to work, with credit to the Warrior of Light for vouching for his presence in Ishgard proper.
- Being present in Coerthas for the Warrior of Light's adventures in Ishgard, he was once again available to lend the occasional hand. Assisted with Dusk Vigil, Sohm Al, and the Great Gubal Library.
- As the Scions were re-established, began to spend more time at Revenant's Toll. Assisted with the Warrior of Light's sky pirate adventures that lead to the mystery of the Void Ark and all the Voidsent-y antics that followed. Was also present for the Final Steps of Faith.
- Did not need much convincing to travel east once Stormblood kicked off. Assisted with Susano, various adventures in and about the Ruby Sea, and the raid on Doma Castle. Was also present for the raid on Ala Mhigo and the fight against Zenos/Shinryu, wanting to be part of the big push to liberate the place.
- Might have wandered off to follow his own interests if not for the Scions suddenly dropping into comas. Immediately offered all of his resources to be put towards the effort of determining the problem/bringing them back. Passed almost all of Shadowbringers in a state of frantic scholarship.
- As of 5.4 is now in an indecisive state between buggering off to chase some promising new Void-related information and remaining on standby for whatever the hells is up with those spooky towers.
